Oh, by the way, did I mention that I own Apple shares?
DISCLAIMER: DK owns Apple shares. Which have made him a lot of money since February.
Warning: Contains traces of Apple shares. External use only. May cause drowsiness and nausea if ingested
Disclaimer: Mr P ate some apple pie once, and half an apple turnover. They were very good.
UPDATE: Hats off to DK for finding this amusing and taking it well, and yes I am a 'bitch'.

The interviewer clearly had done little research and just presented the claims of the fat man and his henchmen as fact. Having said that the fairest thing I can say about Sunny's performance is that it was a missed opportunity. But make your own mind up. The interview starts at 1.00 minute:

I usually find Unity rather long-winded but this post is spot on.
Mirror and Back-Up
/One thing I noticed about the take down by Fasthosts (see below) is that Craig Murray thinks he may have lost most of his content. I would have thought that Fasthosts would be obliged to give users an opportunity to save their files before the final switch off but it seems not.
All my content on Squarespace is regularly saved in a MovableType-compatible format and sits safely on my external hard drive. If I were particularly concerned to keep my content available online I could also easily mirror to another site or bookmark to something like Del.icio.us.
There has also been a flurry of comment on libel law and on the question of US versus UK servers. The situation, as I understand it is this: US web hosting companies are not considered publishers or authors of the material hosted on their servers and cannot, therefore be sued in the US or anywhere else because of material uploaded by their customers . However a blogger, posting from the UK or anywhere else could be held liable in a British court for any content uploaded to any server wherever it is located. So if, like me, you use US based servers you are unlikely to get taken down in the manner of Fasthosts but you could get a libel writ landing on your mat. Although, it has to be said that up to now it's been the threat of legal action, whether from Paul Staines or the Uzbek Lumbertubs, that has done the trick rather than any courtroom decision.

Chicken Yoghurt » Public Service Announcement
Tim Ireland’s Bloggerheads site is currently down after his webhost pulled the plug. You can thank the latest Russian (that should be Uzbek) billionaire to reach the UK. The details will come out in due course.
Tim’s currently also without email so if anyone needs to get hold of him, I’m happy to be the go-between and pass on any message by phone. My email address is at the top of the page.
This also means that the family of websites that Tim and Clive (whose site -The UK Today - is also down) look after are also currently AWOL. So if you’re missing the online presences of Craig Murray, Bob Piper or Boris Johnson, now you know why they’ve gone.
Tim and Clive are now looking for a new web home for themselves and the rest and are hoping to be back within 48 hours. If any sympathetic souls would help spread the word, it would be most appreciated.
I’d like to know who the webhost was. My guess is it wasn’t based in the US.
UPDATE: It was Fasthosts: “The UK’s Number 1 web host” (sic)
Wouldn’t touch ‘em with a bargepole.

/Lawyer jailed for faking email in child custody case
A bit of research on the internet, a little bit of private -eye work and some help from an electronics store have put a scheming, lying lawyer behind bars for six months. Ooooh, there is something very satisfying in seeing barristers, judges, magistrates, MPs and coppers ending up in the clink. That's fair cheered me up!

/Cherie cashes in on husband's fame with £1.5million memoirs' deal
She often complained that being the wife of Tony Blair was "like living in a goldfish bowl". But faced with the prospect of earning millions for her life story, Cherie Blair has shown she is more than willing to invade her own privacy if the price is right.
The former Prime Minister's wife has signed a £1.5million deal to write an "intimate" portrait of her family's life at Downing Street.

/Man admits urinating on ill woman
A Hartlepool man is facing jail after he urinated on a disabled woman who lay dying in the street. The 27-year-old shouted "this is YouTube material" as he degraded Christine Lakinski, 50, who had fallen ill, magistrates heard. He threw a bucket of water over her, before urinating on her and covering her with shaving foam. The incident was filmed on a mobile phone.

/The Executive Computer; A Web of Networks, an Abundance of Services
Via Kottke
Bill Clinton and Al Gore made a campaign promise to help build a national data network, hoping it would lead to new digital information services. While waiting to see if the new Administration follows through, businesses can get a taste of the future with the rapidly growing commercial networks of computer services. This is the first mention in the New York Times of the World Wide Web (1993), taken from the 150+ years of NYT archives which, after the discontinuation of the Select subs programme, are mostly available free of charge.
The first networks were on-line services like Prodigy, Compuserve and America Online. Although they provide useful services, these networks are based on minicomputer and mainframe technologies of the 1960's and 1970's, in which thousands of users can connect simultaneously by telephone to a central system that dispenses electronic information. And that technology has drawbacks: the systems can become congested, and for the most part customers have limited options.
