He made me do it

I know I said I wouldn't  make any further comment
about the little matter with Tim Ireland, which I posted on last night, but I just can't let this go. Ireland emailed me last night. The email was headed 'You could have emailed me', a quote from my blogpost. This is what it said:
'You could have emailed me'

TI:
Ditto.  So, how is me@mycomments.org an out of date email address? Tim
I replied:
MP:  You say ditto but you posted your remarks with no attempt to contact me even though you by then had a valid address. I posted my comments after it became clear that you were not going to allow my comments to see the light of day.As for the email address it is an old Easyspace one. You get a domain of your choice and (I) used it as an email address in the days when I was still naive enough to believe that being part of the 'conversation' was worthwhile. I'm pretty sure they have the same set up still. Subsequently I acquired several domains, several Gmail accounts and I have a dotMac account, so I probably have tens of thousands of possible accounts and I did not bother to renew the Easyspace one. I have a Yahoo account as well which I could have used and we have two internet connections with two different suppliers (BT and Virgin) so it would have been fairly easy to send a comment in disguise while still satisfying your registration requirements. I'm not into hiding my identity. I'm easily found on Google, Whois and a few blogrolls...
Several hours went past and then this pithy response arrived: (Referring to the Easyspace account)
TI:  If it's out of date, it's out of date by a few years. I don't think you're being 100% honest with me.
Shortly followed by this: (Referring to my original question as to why he had called blogger Tim Daw 'pathetic'.)
TI: If someone deliberately turns a blind eye to the quite obvious fact that it is Dale and Staines who have the websites that are awash with anonymous bullies and that it is Dale and Staines who make regular use of those same bullies... if they then play the tired old trick of trying to turn it around and make out that I'm the bully responsible for 'personal attacks', yes, that makes them pathetic. You, equally, have a nerve play-acting that you're being unfairly treated or shut out. You have expressed some pretty one-sided opinions about me during this affair that warranted comment, but you offer no right of reply.

Tim

PS - Your name was in quotation marks, as there was nothing in the details you gave 'in good faith' that clearly linked the author of the comment to your website.
I then decided to send this (final) response and close the correspondence. I am sure most reasonable people would agree that I was justified in discontinuing any further dialogue with Mr. Ireland.

I am a liar then.
Those are the words I think you are trying to say. Well, firstly I don't give a flying fuck what you think but I dearly hope we meet up one day when I will invite you to call me a liar to my face. Secondly I have the original email from Easyspace with the account details for mycomments.org. I have no intention of sending it to you because I think you've forfeited the right to courteous discourse by your slur. I shall post it, together with this correspondence on my blog and let people decide for themselves whether I am a liar or not and whether you had any justification for making such a slur. (BTW - It clearly says on my blog that any emails pertaining to blogposts may be published at my discretion).

As for your second email.
It seems to me that any accusation of bullying laid at your door would be perfectly justified. You have already publicly accused me of deliberately trying to subvert your registration process, for what ends is not clear - to post a perfectly reasonable comment? And now you have called me a liar. But that's not bullying in your sealed off reality where whatever Mr. Ireland says is utterly justified and reasonable but what others say is considered beyond the pale. They used to call that hypocrisy. I've read Tims posts at 'An Englishman's Castle' and they don't even begin to approach your levels of abusiveness. Yet for daring to disagree with you he is branded 'pathetic'. That sort of thing is common in school playgrounds. Watching it coming from intelligent, grown men is rather disturbing.

I have a nerve 'play-acting'
( you really do like the old abusive comments don't you?) that I'm being unfairly treated, you say. Where is the 'play-acting' exactly? Why have you used that term? Where do I complain of 'unfairness'? Fairness has nothing to do with it. You traduced me simply because my email didn't validate. When I explained why it hadn't your response was to call me a liar. I couldn't care less about fairness, I just don't like being abused for no reason simply because you've got it into your head that I'm one of the 'enemy'. I believe there is a term for that also.
TI: You have expressed some pretty one-sided opinions about me during this affair that warranted comment, but you offer no right of reply.
Oh, so you were well aware who I was then? There was I giving you the benefit of the doubt.

About YOU?
Could you provide some sources please, as you are so fond of saying. I don't think I've made any unreasonable remarks about you but I'm prepared to stand corrected if you would like to provide the material. I have expressed exasperation at the so called blog war, as have many others. One sided you say. What does that mean? You say something. I disagree. That is one -sided by definition isn't it, unless I've missed something along the way.

Right of reply? I say 'these blogwars are tedious' and you want a 'right of reply'? It's a blog not a debating society. I don't have comments because many commenters are arseholes with nothing to do but squat on other people's sites waiting to pour out their mindless, infantile drivel. I've read enough of it on other people's blogs I'm certainly not having it on mine. I have a blog, not a chatroom or a usenet group. I post my responses to things I read on other blogs on my blog. Simple. Others can do likewise. It really is very easy. Your right of reply is sitting in front of you. You may prefer a particular method but you are not prevented from responding to anything I write. In fact that's just what's happening now.
TI:  PS - Your name was in quotation marks, as there was nothing in the details you gave 'in good faith' that clearly linked the author of the comment to your website.
But that didn't stop you using the name in your post? Interesting logic. And you just can't get away from those quotes can you? '...in good faith'. Why those quot.... oh no, forget it, I really can't be arsed.

Finally, I'm afraid there is no where to go with this. By calling me a liar you have crossed a line. I think most people would feel the same way. In the real world I would have nothing whatsoever to do with you after that and I think I'll apply the same rule here. Thank you, at least, for answering my original question about Tim Daw. Now that I have my answer and you have had an opportunity to insult me I think I'll call it a day. Please don't email me again. Any future mail from you will be trashed unread. This correspondence is closed. Mr Power has spoken. Geddit?

Hours of happy fun can now be had trying to prove that it's a photoshop job. Now if you'll excuse me I have a Saturday afternoon to enjoy. TTFN!This arrived as I was writing my email to Ireland. I'm not sure what it means exactly but here it is:
TI:  Looks to me like you're stalking around the outskirts looking for any opening and spoiling for a fight that you can run away from anytime it suits you. Sorry. Not playing. Tim
What the fuck? I think it might be time to take this man by the arm and lead him gently to his GP's surgery. There is some wonderful medication available nowadays. Jeez! How to shred your credibility in easy stages...

UPDATE
: Then this arrived:
Hahahahaha! It's a response to your 'last email'. How could it arrive before you sent it? Tim
He's right I was actually writing this post not the email. I didn't see the email arrive. It makes no difference really but it seems to have given Mr. Ireland a reason to laugh.

One more thing. If you are reading this and by chance you are one of the small number of bloggers linking to me  and you have no problem with Tim Ireland's comments about me please FUCK OFF NOW and take me off your blogroll as soon as possible. Ta!
